कमल (वानस्पतिक नाम:नीलंबियन न्यूसिफ़ेरा (Nelumbian nucifera)) वनस्पति जगत का एक पौधा है जिसमें बड़े और सुन्दर फूल खिलते हैं। यह भारत का राष्ट्रीय पुष्प है। संस्कृत में इसके नाम हैं - कमल, पद्म, पंकज, पंकरुह, सरसिज, सरोज, सरोरुह, सरसीरुह, जलज, जलजात, नीरज, वारिज, अंभोरुह, अंबुज, अंभोज, अब्ज, अरविंद, नलिन, उत्पल, पुंडरीक, तामरस, इंदीवर, कुवलय, वनज आदि आदि। फारसी में कमल को 'नीलोफ़र' कहते हैं और अंग्रेजी में इंडियन लोटस या सैक्रेड लोटस, चाइनीज़ वाटर-लिली, ईजिप्शियन या पाइथागोरियन बीन.
